Nobel Laureate and Stanford University biophysicist professor Michael Levitt was interviewed on Radio New Zealand on 19 April 2020 where he said covid-19 is worse for people aged 65 and over. His modeling on the spread of covid-19 was proved to be accurate.
Having studied the data, he concluded there was “no evidence to show it is causing massive loss of life, overall (2020) has not been a bad year, flue was almost completely absent, with covid deaths making up for this”.
“Every year there are millions of people die, and the numbers are no different to any other year,” he says. “People who are dying from coronavirus are those who are at risk of death anyway. Professor Levitt believes we’re been ‘primed for Covid-19 panic.’
