Radio broadcasting

Steve’s early career was as a nightclub DJ and radio host working across the UK counties of Essex and Kent, as well as London during the 1980s and 90s.

Having completed his training as a news reporter he worked in the newsrooms at both BBC Essex and competing commercial station Radio Essex.

A sideways move into newspaper journalism meant he left radio behind, but in 2008 he launched his first podcast, a weekly wrap of business news for investors.

In 2013 he started a weekly show of 80s dance music, and having done his dash with that format after three years, Steve launched a weekly jazz show that’s syndicated to more than 80 FM and digital broadcasters worldwide.

And with the emergence of internet radio Steve helped launch two stations along with associated websites, developed station branding, music format, and logo artwork.

In addition Steve runs Instant Radio Station, a free resource for anyone wanting to start a hobby or community radio station.

Below are some examples of Steve’s on-air work…
